4 serious questions: 1)Which is more complex/difficult to unravel- human brain vs human genome? 2)Will we make major advances understanding how either work before wiping ourselves out via climate, nucs, or AI? 3)Will genetics will ever contribute to clinical psychiatry? 4)How?

All good questions! On (1), I think the complexity of the genome and of the brain are intertwined and understanding that relationship may help ground neuroscience (but I'm probably biased...)

You could almost change that ‘can’ to a ‘will’.

Well, yeah. Polygenic scores will be more confounded for some kinds of traits than others, with social outcomes like educational attainment or income most susceptible

Wait... does this study mean that genetic effects on risk might actually vary depending on the genomic background they find themselves in?

This should be intuitive to anyone who understands genetics and GxE...takes ignorance or motivated reasoning to take Murray seriously.

The general idea of GxE interactions is intuitive, but it's not trivial demonstrating these effects as
@molly_przew et al have done and many using polygenic scores will be surprised...

What the heck does polygenic mean? Academics need to learn to communicate much more effectively. Otherwise no one will have a clue what they're droning on about and no-one will read their output.
