Glasses, day 3: Did you know that in addition to cleaning your glasses all the time, you also have to clean the glasses cleaning cloths? This is a whole infrastructure I was unprepared for.

Uhhhh this is news to me, and I’ve worn glasses all my waking life since age 5. I use regular tissues to clean them when they need it. Apparently I’ve been doing it wrong for almost 40 years o_0

Paper products like tissues will (eventually) scratch any lenses except ones made of glass. Those little cloths are a pain, I use a cloth diaper or old tee shirt (tagless).

I support cleaning your glasses with water and a little bit of dish soap! Optical coating safe and it makes a huge difference in clarity vs just pushing a smudge around with a cloth. And yeah I dry them with a tshirt.
