Q for a prelim personal side project how hard would it be processor/mem wise to process 100 to 10^5 moving point sources like this in a simple environment like a box?

It'll be quite CPU intensive, especially for moving sources. In my project it takes 30 seconds to update the impulse response when a single object moved. But I haven't put diffuse caches or anything clever like that in place. (Not sure how they would work if sources are moving.)
