You are making a big assumption that the public would like and agree to this kind of electoral stitch-up. I believe they wouldn't.

I for one would hate that. I dont think there is overlap between the parties otherwise why do they exist? I wouldn't particpate in that vote

It depends on the specifics, all voters are different. You can't assume ALL LD & Labour voters prefer each other's parties to the tories.
