Is @willquince at the Save the NHS march in Colchester today? Just curious as it's a march for NHS not another political party.

-
Well for many, NHS deteriorating & Tory policy are interchangeable. But I like to think saving the NHS is in everyone's best interests.
-
That match as opportunistic as May when calling Election. I'm all for the NHS, & it's in a mess, but not to prop up a political ambition
-
It was a march for Tim Young. Nothing more, nothing less
-
Fair enough. I saw tons of NHS signs but I wasn't there so can't comment, just ask, as I did.
-
There's been events all over Colchester where people have been making NHS signs. Doesn't seem very partisan to me.
-
There is video evidence of the anti-Tory chanting and lots of Vote Labour posters. Seems pretty partisan to me.
-
What I don't understand about Tories is how they expect to sway people when they refuse to engage with non Tories on shared issues i.e. NHS

Will, why didn't the Tories join in with their own banner? "Safe in our hands" or similar.
#askingforafriend -
That's what would do if I were a campaigning Tory. But mysteriously, like May, the Tories don't seem enthusiastic about this election, sadly
-
Trust me, we were out today campaigning too, delivering leaflets across Colchester.

What, precisely, is the proposal that people are rallying around/for? Always wary of 'save' anything if that's where it begins and ends.
-
STPs and SOF are plans for privatising fully our NHS via ACOs.
-
Plenty of sensible and long overdue rationalisation happening around STP. PFI the major step to privatisation of NHS.
-
PFI was huge error, agreed. But have to disagree re STPs. Seriously out of order stuff in the plans.
-
And some seriously sensible stuff too.
-
Superhubs 50/60k patients, many not 'closer to home' downgrade A&Es > MIU/UCCs; & ACOs .... Sensible?
-
Merger of some Trusts eminently sensible. Duplicated functions and lack of strategic overview.
-
Merger > downgrade eg. Shrewsbury&Telford. + can't trust NHS bosses:pic.twitter.com/b1uqjL9ygy

it was vehemently anti Tory. The chants of 'Tories, Tories, Tories. Out out out!' - def right decision not to attend Will.
-
Would have been dangerous for Will to attend a rally where such hostility & hatred was being whipped up
