Public opinion story on school reopening has been pretty consistent. Most voters are not up in arms about unions or a rapid reopening. Also: throughout crisis, people really like safety precautions. (Other thing to remember—parents w/school age kids only ~25%. Lots on here tho.)

we are SO close to having parents vaccinated. Kids do spread, largely asymptomatically. Aerosol spread is real. Teachers can spread asymptomatically. We are about into summer, so just wait — it won’t be long. Don’t kill someone’s parents.

controlling community spread before vaccination is universally available is also important - we have, unfortunately, too many anti-vaxxers. Who cares about polls. Be smart.
