Blackness doesn't mean someone is inherently good. Essentializing Blackness as if our presence in any white supremacist institution automatically means progress is backwards.
A Black politician can lie to you. A Black police officer can kill you. A Black judge can unjustly sentence you. A Black DA can frame you. A Black soldier can murder overseas. A Black billionaire can hoard wealth. etc... Black people in white supremacist places ≠ progress
It often becomes clear that many people just want access to what white people have and if that's your motivation, fine. But we need not get that confused with liberation or progress because they're not the same.
The danger is those who gain access into oppressive institutions can [and often do] victim blame/cause harm. The oppressed might be convinced and excuse it because the one who gained access looks like them.
Same with the idea that the answer to sexual harassment is guaranteeing more women have power. This will guarantee NOTHING. Good to have more women and Blacks in general of course, but it won't ipso facto fix anything!!!!
