    It helps me to move and get outside, especially with friends and family! I love running, hiking, canoeing, and XC skiing. I also recharge through dance. It provides me with a creative outlet and helps me sustain my work when I’m emotionally drained.

    Activism is difficult and exhausting work. What do you do to recharge?

    If you are a part of an older generation and believe in the power and action of young people there is space for you. If you are a part of an older generation and believe in land back and racial justice there is space for you.

    You belong! We are asking for change on a massive scale, and the only way to do that is with authentic intergenerational collaboration. We just need to make sure adults and young people work together successfully to benefit each other and the movement.

    Youth activism has surged in recent years and is getting a lot of media attention. What would you say to older generations who may not feel like they belong in the climate change activism movement?

    I'd also recommend connecting with The Wild Center's Youth Climate Program! We have so many resources for working with young people on climate that we'd love to share.

    An awesome resource I’d recommend is “A Guide to Adult Allyship in Youth-Led Movements” which was created out of the youth climate strike movement. It's full of great tips for supporting young people in climate work. .

    I would love to see educators, acknowledge the efforts of the students who are working to take climate action, and make them feel seen and appreciated so that they are driven to continue to do the work that they are passionate about.

    One things students in YEA! are passionate about is Climate Justice Education. Young people need the tools, language, and skills to take bold climate action-- and that starts in the classroom!

    Support young people’s activism, but let them lead. The most authentic youth-led work is sometimes the clunkiest, and that’s okay! Your most important job is to ensure young people know you are 100% there for them, but that they find their way on their own.

    Climate change is an all-encompassing issue: an environmental issue, a moral issue, a social and racial justice issue, and more! I want to do my part in creating a world that is a more healthy, just, and safe place for every person in it.
