The problem with hammers in industry is when people use the claw side to extract nails. After teaching thumb protection, please discourage claw use; promote immutable nails. (Avoid silly ideas like the hammer asking the nail to descend or ascend.)

Claw use is a primary use case of hammers! We can't teach students to avoid the claw; they'll be completely unprepared for real industry scenarios!

I tell my students to imagine the first day of flight school... using an Airbus A320, because it's used so much in industry.
