That doesn't absolve Trump if either he knew about it beforehand (and there is evidence he was well aware of the plans), or if the speech encouraged thousands of additional rioters to participate.

Equally given that he was one of now 46 people to have taken the Presidential Oath of Office, he should have been aware that his words at such time would have significant meaning. Part of the price of office.
