That's obv. a twitter summary, but ~accurate ("drastically reduce...disciplinary processes). The arg. is that suspensions are mostly racist/sexist. A better argument, supported by reams of data, is that they track behavior: "bad kids" are more likely to get locked up as adults.

The "school to prison pipeline" is another popular but silly idea, a la right-wing only authoritarianism, "implicit association," "racial resentment," etc. This breaks down to: people who get suspended a lot are more likely to go to jail later, so schools shouldn't suspend kids.

When I worked in the bullpen - sales/trading floor- world, there was a company called s/t like "Books by the Yard" that Mook senior managers would order old books from to make their offices look classy. You could get 100lbs at a time, 200lbs, specify all leather-bound, whatever.

This is actually an interesting ethical question. If it turned out letting pedophiles have sex with life-like child replicas reduced the molestation rate by 75%, would you allow this? Assume our modern legal climate: you can't just print and...jail...the list of doll-orderers.

To rephrase my original point: a much bigger problem here^ is that we've simply re-defined "mass shooting" in order to get far more MS. Per the usual FBI/M. Jones definition ("4+ KILLED, in a non- gang or domestic incident) there have been about 150 US mass shootings all time.

It's worth re-posting this, from a friendly crime stats debate earlier, b/c of what it shows. CRIME isn't up dramatically. Even Black-on-white/white-on-Black crime isn't up. The post-Floyd crime surge was almost entirely among upper end B-on-B crime (murder, etc) in blue cities.
