FB and Google transcend the occupation of private "media companies." FB and Google are similar to the monopoly that AT&T once was. They already have exploited their power to aid the government and have had their databases plundered. Transparency and regulations = inevitable.

I know... I was so exhausted with all the bickering with those annoying trolls that I could barely concentrate on what happened last night. Sad to see that El-Sayed lost... he was a big one for us, but he's still got a bright future, so I'm sure he'll run again for something.

Senators using "private" corporations as a cut-out for them to attack dissenters they disagree with is very dangerous for our democracy.

In my opinion by banning Infowars, Facebook and google are editorializing and thus should be held responsible for every word on their platforms. Nothing stated by Jones was illegal.

I agree, I actually argued with someone else about that. However, this document appears to want to place liability on websites regardless of whether they are editorializing or not.

Any regulation of these social media sites is a horrifically bad idea. Free market forces (competition) as slow and initially unappetizing as it feels, is the only long term & effective solution! Having Congress create laws/regs will have incredibly bad consequences!
