Fascinating that Britain's population was replaced twice within a few thousand years: first by Neolithic farming people 4000BC (who built Stonehenge) then by Yamnaya Bronze Age people (known as Bell Beaker culture) 2500BC with 90%+ replacementpic.twitter.com/eYrcl7oRSn

The Yamnaya 90% replacement resembles the 95% mortality due to new infections in the Inca Empire. When The 5th virrey Francisco de Toledo in the 1570's did a population survey, old people told of the much larger pre-conquest population.

only in the xviii century did Peruvian native population started growing again, one century after Mexico's. One reason Mexico's population is much larger than Peru + Bolivia, though pre-conquest the difference wasn't as big.

Damnit... I’m sure there’s a joke here. Culture of cancelation? Those who don’t learn history are doomed to something something... Interesting though!
