My daughter has to work so hard for things that come naturally to us. At 15 months old and a year of intense therapy, she is [almost] able to sit. Not sit up. Just sit. So I hope you’ll join me in my efforts to find a cure for this very challenging disorder.

Currently, there is no cure for PTHS. We focus on management of symptoms and trying to improve skills through therapies. Lots and lots of therapies.

PTHS is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by:
-intellectual/cognitive impairment
-lack of speech
-epilepsy
-breathing issues
-non-mobility
-limited motor skills

My daughter has a rare neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a mutation of the TCF4 gene on the 18th chromosome. My daughter has Pitt Hopkins syndrome. There are fewer than 500 cases documented worldwide

Not long ago, I shared the results of my daughter’s MRI. We learned our daughter has Agenesis of Corpus Callosum. We suspected it was due to an underlying genetic abnormality. We were correct.
