how bright it is: since i put it up, i noticed that cats like to lie in areas illuminated by the floodlight, like it's the sun how bright it is #2: when i first turned it on in a room that had the ceiling light on, the rest of the room started looking darker.

in fact i don't even bother turning the floodlight off (it's just 70 W) or turning the ceiling light on (it makes no noticeable difference as to the overall luminance of the room)

Dumb question: why T12 specifically? Better thermal recovery?
-
incredible response time and very high power for weight
-
everything else either gets hot enough to foul or not hot enough to supply the necessary power at the tip sizes i use

I have an 18000 lumen fluorescent over mine. Can confirm on both counts

Another excellent tool is those $10 ikea lights with the long bendy neck and ultra focused 3W led in the head
-
i kinda hate those, they break way too easily and you can never position just right anyway

Do they have decent CRI? Been looking for replacement workbench lights, which are merely 1200 lumen.

Is it cold white? I prefer warm color lights but couldn’t find any at that profile. White gives me chills - flashbacks of hospital ridden childhood
