i make a point of never *training* a cat to do anything. the game (not food or clicker or whatever) is its own reward, and the only thing they get is being taught a way to solve the game. sometimes the hint needs to be learned too, e.g. the concept of pointing is nontrivial

Heh, there's a lot of potential for a blood bath with live mice - I'm definitely too squeamish to go that route! When you say fetching, do you mean they will bring stuff directly to you? Or just to a secret place of their own choosing?

this cat brings stuff directly near my feet or otherwise within my reach, every single time. no idea why, she came up with that. would sometimes drop a toy before me and meow requesting me to throw it. can spend hours this way.

@NyarlaSaurus did that! Instead I just make dozens of robbled up paper balls and throw them one after the other, to cut down on the amount of fetching _I_ have to do...
