Mixed weekend culturally in Suffolk. Found McCreesh/Gabrieli’s b minor mass disappointingly joyless on Friday.

Slott’s work on The Thing (all too short lived), and a few issues of Spider-Man where the FF guested (somewhere around #670) bode well.

Pick of the Usher Hall Messiaen’s Des canyons… fond memories of the 2006 performance to a deserted Usher Hall.

If I was still living there, there’s a fair amount I’d go to (not as much as some years), but nothing to tempt me to make a trip

As one has come to expect under Linehan’s tenure, the Usher Hall programme doesn’t feel well curated.

If I was being unkind I’d suggest it premiered 3 years ago as 59 productions’ light shows are rather samey.
