Maggot McFear added,
If it wasn't locked behind licensing fees I'd agree with you. Since it's proprietary and not available to most people to implement uses of, I'll stick to Plus Codes / Open Location Code.
^ THIS ^ It's too bad too - you could tell even a little child a phrase, like "laser grass nests", and, if they ever got lost, they could tell their address down to 3 square meters. Keyed to different languages that would help them remember. This should be a UN sort of thing.
I don't disagree about the licensing. But it's still a superior idea for the reasons you state.
But it's also inferior for related reasons. #what3words uses random words for every location, adjacent locations have totally different words. If you mess up just one word, you've ruined the whole thing. With #PlusCodes #OLC if you mess up one character, there's still useful info
Fair. I'm convinced.
We spaced similar 3 word addresses as far apart as possible, and our search returns suggested 3 word addresses based on your current location to help you get the right one, even if you make a mistake.pic.twitter.com/kRSdcGcsdT
