My only issue with what3words is vociferously sue anyone who tries to use it without a licence, or even setup a competitive system .. it should be free ...

Yes, our app & site are free for all. We charge business - automotive, logistics, taxis, asset mgmt etc - who integrate our code into their own services, a fee, just like any other geocoding company. We don’t charge emergency services, NGOs or charities.
