but the error is just as likely to be when they try to read "five, one, point, five, two, zero, nine, zero, one, space, minus, zero, one, nine, five, three, four, eight" off their phone to type in to the dispatch system (especially if they need OSGB coordinates).
As a user in the field (literally) I can tell you it's way easier to have just three words to listen for, remember and enter into a device. When given the 3 words over the radio you can simply open the app and speak them into it. It's obvious if an error had been made.
