Control rooms and call handlers use what3words either via http://map.what3words.com , our browser site or through their current CAD systems where for some software providers what3words has been made available as an address input.
So they are still typing lat lon coordinates in to the dispatch system, to convert to OSGB coordinates. Sounds like nothing could go wrong there.
Hi Ian, call handlers can take 3 words over the phone from a caller, type 3 words directly into their dispatch system, or our website, and can pass 3 words direct to officers or other responding services over the radio or digitally.
