Used @what3words today to explain to Police where I was in a 900 acre forest 
. Police units and helicopter 
located us easily and attending officers have now downloaded the app

I understand how W3W works but what's wrong with a Grid Ref?
@OrdnanceSurvey so a Grid Reference Finder App that tells you exactly where you are and no need for someone else to have the app or data signal
Communicating coordinates can be prone to error, especially when saying them over a phone. Even if a 3 word address is misheard, our system will suggest a more likely one. It’s user friendly for all, especially if you’re not used to using long strings of coordinates.

what3words picks up many different types of errors, and with all similar sounding 3 word addresses far away from each other, a mistake is easy to spot.
