I have this too on my XPS 13. But unfortunately in my country there's no official Dell representative. Did that guy said the reason this happened?

Damn that sucks. I asked if he did a lot of these types of repairs and he said he did but I think he interpreted it as more general screen replacements, not this specific issue.

Same experience, had problem with battery. Guy came two days later and replaced battery on-site.
