I know a handful of Rubyists that switched from Ruby to Go at some point, but after dabbling with Go a bit this month, I'm realizing that whatever attracted them to Ruby must not have been the things I like about Ruby. Genuinely curious: what might I be missing?

As a past Rubyist I don’t see the appeal either. The most obvious omission being the lack of functional iteration constructs that are such a core part of Ruby (Enumerable) which are missing in Go. I switched to Rust for performance, correctness, and ergonomics instead.
