So the SNES used a (variant of a) 65C816 CPU, right? A 3.58mhz 16-bit chip, a descendant of the 6502 used in the NES.
But because it's a cartridge console, carts could contain enhancement chips that added a secondary processor, allowing games to be more powerful. pic.twitter.com/M3ObnmNBqy
