Really!? I had to write some last week and the lack of map, filter, and friends was an immediate wtf. Then array appending, nil checks (groan), error handling and string manipulation. The only nice bits were the built-in http support and gorm db package.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been doing Ruby for nearly 10 years but the lack of map etc. is a complete turn off. Repeating the same boiler plate over and over for such a common pattern, in a language designed this decade seems strange.
