Speaking as an outsider who's had both very good and very bad interactions with people in the community, it's a pretty interesting language and worth learning for the mental shifts
Fun story: I almost ended up being more involved in Haskell, but stopped when I went to the Berlin meetup and someone called me unethical for 2 hours, as I used non-static languages like Ruby back then. So, selling Rust for me. Still consider haskell-cafe an inspiration.
Ugh, don't let idiots like Tony Morris turn you off. Lots of good stuff to learn from Haskell, and plenty of nice people using it too. Was not represented here though. :( :( :(
