This project started when I tried to scan our entire @github org for secrets with TruffleHog. It took *days*. I fixed some major gripes I had with TruffleHog, then was able to scan the entire org in a few hours using a c5n.4xlarge. Those scripts are included :)

hey man super cool! just a note performance won't necessarily increase much because you're bound by network connections and waiting for them to complete. Making it asynchronous is the big one (sorry haven't had chance to review code). Either way super sweet tool and I'll be using

not trying to be an asshole just done a shit ton of work in this space and have generally found that C and Python have very little difference. But you got to learn a cool new language and stuff :-).

I had a similar side project a while back which I haven’t put up anywhere, but not nearly this complete. I was using ripgrep as a library and then added an entropy matched to it.

Nice! Yeah my next Todo is to make a scanner for file system directories that will also go through archives. The entropy scanner portion is interesting, I'm still not convinced it's super helpful yet, but at least it does the math right.

Thanks man and thank you for doing it in Rust. I have been hoping more tools would get written in rust.
-
Yep! This was partly an excuse to learn it, as well as some Git internals. It means compiling on Windows is slightly painful but otherwise worth it since this code just runs *immensely* faster than Python.
