it was a killer deal, I was driving to south anchorage anyway, I can grow into it when I have a house, but really I’m a gadgets nerd that wants to control a/v through the network

it has a LOT of plugs so I’ll def wanna read the fine print, but it can power 11 channels plus 2 stereo zones, all with preamp breakouts, io for hdmi, composite and component, with a network interface over ethernet or wifi

oh wow apparently the rs232 is more than just debug and a bunch of home theater junk integrates over it - it has trigger cables too so people must be wiring up lights and curtains or something ridiculous like that 🤔

something frustrating is that high quality and feature overkill kinda go hand-in-hand - I would’ve been perfectly happy with 5.1 with room to grow into 7.1 but apparently people don’t have restraint anymore
