rust has an unusual amount of syntax surrounding memory management + macros explode the possibility space, otoh its object model and base types are pretty tidy so I think it ultimately lands at medium-sized

I keep hearing that Rust is a "large" language. Can someone explain what they mean? If you count the whole stdlib then sure, but the point is you can tell what it does from type signatures and use your reading comprehension to... read it. Unsafe aside, is Rust really large?
