i just opened GIMP for the first time in years and it didn't take 99999999999s to start because IT LAZY-LOADED THE FONTS and omg im crying

it still takes a long time to start up. I use it every day and it gets on my nerves

I just started it up on a 3 year old refurbished Dell XPS (with an i5 and 8 gb of memory) and it took about 2-3 seconds to start up. Slightly quicker if you just closed it because the caches are warmed up.
