this country is *so completely terrible* on telecoms and even our nominally socialist party lacks the courage and temerity to tackle them in the way that they should be tackled.

my top political issue beyond the ones that most reasonable people share (justice, the earth dying, things like that) is housing, and my second is probably telecoms, and *absolutely zero viable parties* do anything substantial on either of them. It's sad.

In a way I can understand not moving substantially on housing -- you bet your bippy that 98% of pols are homeowners so most of them have an *absolute vested interest* in perpetuating the awful morass we have going on now -- but telecoms should be a slam dunk.
