How the hell does a string with a value of 'NULL' affect a SQL-DB in any other way than -for example- a String with a value of 'NumPlate 123'? Both are strings, which means 'NULL' in this case is NOT nothing but an array of 4 letters...

What actually happened: he got tickets for people without license plates (I'm guessing because of weak type systems converting NULL to "NULL")
