Yes, I use Haskell at work. Yes, in production and not for internal toy tools. Yes, I am tired of reading that Haskell is no fit for LOB systems because it is wrong. Yes, I think that Haskell in enterprise adds great value. No, I am not an academic and I have never been.

My point is that Haskell is awesome for building your typical "normal" "enterprise" applications too. Even if you don't have/need/want any DSLs. It is a general purpose language, and a really, really, really good one.

Regular Haskell 2010 plus some quality of life extensions and stuff is a really great language and I enjoy writing in it.

It's when you start getting into code that requires you to read a bunch of associated literature to understand the type hackery going on, that I shrug and move on from (unless I'm actually curious about said type level stuff)

I look at "type hackery" as at any other aspects of the language. Anything can be misused or be very beneficial. I am not great at type level stuff, not even "good". But I personally don't share these "don't use type hackery" or "lens", etc. that I also see sometimes.

I mentioned "lens" because I saw haskellers advising not to use it because it is "hard to learn", and "we need to keep it simple". Absurd, IMO. Same goes with type level: by discriminating against it the whole class of usefulness is discarded.
