“What’s with these dev comedians?” and “Giving a talk doesn’t make you a good developer” are mealy-mouthed ways of saying “I feel threatened by people who can code *and* communicate, so I will devalue the communication part as much as possible.”

Not all communication is public speaking. You can find your niche as a neurodivergent person.

Hi! Super ADHD here! I use my high energy to motivate my team and use my intense observational skills to help with conflicts! Public speaking was one of my weaker points but I decided one day to just practice until I'm fantastic at it. Even then, it's still only one facet.

Same here, for the first part at least. 🙃. I'm definitely one of the more "energetic" in my dept, but for the most part I think it's working well.
