I don't see any real issue with this UI other than it isn't "pretty"

Keep in mind that someone using this would already know what Wget is and have an idea of how it works. It's a tool for power users.

if it's a "power user UI", maybe it should have the CLI equivalents of each option, because that's what we'd be familiar with
maybe the 7 buttons can be organized so I don't need to read each one
maybe the large text areas can be labelled

Those are fair criticisms, but I don't think this UI is that terrible when you consider who the target audience is. Looks like they implemented a simpler default UI though jensroesner.com/wgetgui/wgetgu
