"Seniors Safety Zone" - less than a 100m from where one senior was seriously injured, and another died, via vehicle collision, crossing the streets just a few days ago at Jane/Finch! 😥😡

This is what happens when cities are designed for cars, not pedestrians. :( I admit I jay walk here all the time, as do many frnds. If ppl are systematically creating their own path (& risking their lives to do it) it is a *design failure*!

In most German cities, people drive everywhere (and fast), yet, you can easily and safely walk anywhere because they have footpaths pretty much everywhere except for highways

W/ exception of being former Nazis and all (which I think country does a good job of reminding folks of) Germany is so legit! Public funded post-secondary, refusal to engage w/ Big 5 publishers, urban design prioritizing pedestrians, quality tech, welcoming refugees. #goals

East Germany is a really interesting place (in particular Leipzig) if you're into history anyway. Would definitely recommend visiting if you ever get the chance :)
