Anyone seen code to detect if someone logging on to a service is using a password manager? Interested to see the feasibility of gathering some stats on password manager adoption.

those would all have trouble distinguishing "password manager" from "stuff saved in a text file on the desktop", though
something like installs of browser extensions might work for desktops, although that still won't cover mobile adoption

I would argue that "stuff saved in a text file on the desktop" is a password manager, but not a good one
i wavered on that a bit myself, but in the end i think the "generate password" part is a critical aspect of a password manager

Consumer Reports and PC Mag each include ability to generate a password in their definitions of a password manager.
