I'm 10k words into a minimal introduction to cryptography for programmers so that they can add SSL to their network code. This perhaps wasn't a good project to start. I haven't even gotten to SSL yet.

Thanks, I'm a big fan of it and but something more practical would be useful as well, not that it isn't an amazing resource
Pfft. Woefully incomplete, it doesn't even tell me which algorithm I should use for proof-of-work in this crypto (as in cryptocurrency) I'm designing.
