years ago I'd mention CF in a negative fashion and people would crawl out of the woodwork to shout at me, including telling me that as a librarian wasn't I obsolete also. good times.

Why wouldn't we? The reason we hang out in the woodwork is because our jobs are so easy, using the most productive JVM language out there :)
