(I am leaning towards the guidance breaking off with Stage 2, for both turbulence and weight reasons.)
not a missile guy but I would guess that the guidance would be jettisoned with the second stage. otherwise you'd have to have some second set of thrusters to adjust trajectory, which seems a little hard to pull off
also the aerodynamics factor; if that's the approximate shape of the stage, I would imagine it would generate a fair amount of turbulence on re-entry, which can't be good for keeping the thing on target
obviously spitballing from the diagrams here though
Greetings the hathii digital free library has the USN missile tech rating manual with great info on the slbms covers the launch controls and subsystems.
They could have some INS inside the warhead but considering the speed and that as soon as they enter the atmosphere they are uncorrectible and that the thickness of the local atmosphere is pretty much uncorrectible à priori, I would say they have none.
