Asked Google if they were interested in giving me access to their new Google Maps/Earth VR API in order to do experimental work that might affect social attitudes on nuclear weapons, measured with rigorous social science, fully self-funded, etc. Their answer was: NOPE

Yeah, it's pretty weird. Maybe you could try an impact game pitch and see what they say? It is an easy form to fill out (and they were at least very quick in replying).
