As the old saying goes, if it works it ain't stupid.
So my OCR-all-1-million-PDFs Python script works, but one of the libraries it needs has a memory leak that eventually causes it to run out of RAM and crash. So my fix is to have a DOS batch file that just runs the script endlessly. It makes me feel dirty, but it works?

If it helps, this is also the solution the creator of PHP came up with: "The real programmers will say "Yeah it works but you're leaking memory everywhere. Perhaps we should fix that." I’ll just restart Apache every 10 requests."
