There's some information here on what Hawaii residents can do in the event of a REAL nuclear attack https://dod.hawaii.gov/hiema/files/2017/11/HI-EMA-PUBLIC-BMP-working-brief-NOV-2017.pdf …pic.twitter.com/vx3NECI0jt

If Oahu does get nuked it’s all over. Look at Hiroshimo, total destruction. Gotta get under ground so where on Oahu is deep under ground? Only dumb luck will save a few people. Glad I left for Texas. Might as well just enjoy every day and don’t worry. Gov can’t save you

This just isn't true. An estimated 90% of the people on the island will survive. Most people in Hiroshima survived, and they didn't have the benefit of modern knowledge about fall-out or modern concrete architecture.

90%? Sounds like we need a fact check on that. No one survived within kill zone, I’m pretty sure.

Wrong. Most people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki survived. google it. As for a weapon from N. Korea, the best public model is http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/  by @wellerstein. The state of HI estimates 90% survival for state based on a target of Pearl Harbor.

Okay, I’ll watch from Texas and write my comments after we see what happens. Stay inside? Did you look at what left to city of Hiroshima ? Not a hell of a lot.

We actually have records for mortality rates re: Hiroshima — sheltered versus unsheltered makes a huge difference in mortality. It makes no big difference if the weapon goes off directly on top of you, but if you're half a mile, a mile, etc., it does.
