Have you ever stalked the nuclear denier boards? That sort of sloppiness is the standard. Also anti-semitism.
I know I will regret it, but what are nuclear deniers? People who don't believe there are nuclear weapons?
They are fools who want to out-conspiracy other conspiracy theorists. They think (or claim to think) that nukes are just a hoax perpetuated by, uh, EVERY government and EVERY scientist, to keep us all afraid.
Their rhetorical technique is to pretend they understand the science (they think fast-neutron fission reactions are impossible, which is just empirically wrong), and to (Apollo-style) point out what they are think are "inconsistencies" with photographs, etc.
It is extremely stupid and not worth anyone's time. They also (as @NuclearAnthro indicated) always end up falling back on "didya notice how many Jews were involved in creating the atomic bomb?", which tells you about all you need to know about their intellectual rigor.
Thanks.. and there I thought flat-earthers must be the bottom pit of science-denial.
My impression is that the Flat Earthers, Moon Hoaxers, 9/11 Truthers, etc., all think the Nuke Hoaxers are morons.
I think it goes a but more complex in that Conspiracy theorists are trying to resituate themselves and their agency in modernity. And doing so via a not great route.
