Groueff (whose name I find impossible to spell) wrote a book ("The Manhattan Project") in the 1967. It is the source of many classic anecdotes about the Manhattan Project, but was entirely un-footnoted and so hard to use well. His interviews provide many of the source quotes.
My favorite example of this: Bart Bernstein criticized Stan Norris for using an alleged Groves anecdote from Groueff uncritically, says it probably came from a Groves foe like Szilard. I was really dismayed by his interview with Oppenheimer. A great lost opportunity. There was so much potential to ask him informed questions, yet Groueff asks him the most basic stuff about himself. One of those cases where you really needed an interviewer worthy of the subject.
