This is now year 3 of this template code I've been writing (for my Visualizing Society class) and it is getting better and better.
The up-shot is that it allows you to *very* quickly assemble many different types of D3.js projects. Reduces start-up time, basically.
Oooo.. Do you have any documentation for those of us who aren't able to take your classes in the Garden State?
Eventually I will put the whole thing on GitHub with documentation. Someday! It is almost to that stage. Maybe this winter.
It is not meant to be the be-all and end-all of D3.js modification. In fact, it still uses V3, because I haven't wrapped my head around V4!
But I've found with D3.js that 90% of the effort is getting things up and running. It makes that MUCH easier than doing it from scratch.
