How would you preface a class if the topic was sexual violence/assault/rape? I think the trigger warning debate depends on the course.

I don't have any problem with being very clear about what's going to be talked about/read/etc. I just don't like assumptions of fragility.

I agree fragility isn't useful. But I'm not sure that being clear grapples w/ subjects that are personal for some students and not others.

I make it as clear as possible what we will be reading/watching. The students are adults, and I treat them as adults. Again, no surprises.

I don't have a problem with students making decisions for themselves. Again, they are adults. Again, there are no surprises.
