How would you preface a class if the topic was sexual violence/assault/rape? I think the trigger warning debate depends on the course.

I don't have any problem with being very clear about what's going to be talked about/read/etc. I just don't like assumptions of fragility.

I agree fragility isn't useful. But I'm not sure that being clear grapples w/ subjects that are personal for some students and not others.

The strong examples in favor of TW I have seen all involve teachers "ambushing" students with materials. I think that's bad, obviously.
