1) I don't want to diminish the horror of the atomic attacks on Hiroshima & Nagasaki, but I do feel we need to clear up a misconception.

2) Labelling them civilian targets isn't quite accurate. Hiroshima was base for the Chugoku Regional Army, Army Marine HQ & heavy industry

90% of casualties at Hiroshima were civilian. You can say it was a city with a military base in it, but the city itself was a city.

I can say it was the main supply port for the Japanese Navy. I can also say I deplore the indiscriminate targeting of civilians.
